Superintendent Corey Green sent a notice to families October 23 informing them of that second-grader, 7-year-old Zachary Allen and his sister, sixth-grader, 11-year-old Trinity Allen were killed in the crash on the evening of October 20.

Tioga County Sheriff's officials say the driver of the Mitsubishi Mirage carrying the Allen Children and 5-year-old Nathan Slater of Sayre, Pennsylvania, 38-year-old Darlene Allen of Sayre, remains in critical condition.  Slater was treated for injuries at Robert Packer Hospital and released following the 6:43 p.m. crash.

While the investigation is continuing, authorities say the car was driving east on the highway between Waverly and Nichols when it hit a deer.  As it slowed, it was hit from behind by a tractor trailer driven by 66-year-old Volodymyr Frolyak of Ontario in spite of the Canadian man's attempt to stop.

The truck driver has not been ticketed.

In addition to counselors being made available this week and next in the school district, officials have listed other resources including calling Owego Apalachin school counselors at 687-7301 (option 4), the Center for Psychological Services at 785-4156, Tioga County Mental Health at 687-4000 and Family and Children's Society at 687-3540.

Resources are also available at Oakdale Associates at 754-1101 and Southern Tier Counseling Solutions at 222-5639.

A gofundme page has been set up to assist the Allen family financially.
