The New York State Department of Transportation is processing information provided at the latest public hearing in the Town of Dickinson regarding the pedestrian bridge between Sunrise Terrace and Otsiningo Park and the Route 11 bridge over Interstate 81.

The DOT says it understands the importance of having those bridges in operation and is looking at how to comply with modern requirements, including those for the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Residents also said they would like pedestrian and bicycle lanes along Upper Front Street given the growth of SUNY Broome Community College and the opening of the new, year-round farmer market at Cornell Cooperative Extension.
