The facility is located just east of Chuckster's Family Fun Park. The 53,000-square-foot complex will include athletic fields, batting cages and a fitness center.

Construction work at the site started about 13 months ago. Riley said there were some challenges over the past year that delayed the opening of the facility.

The owner acknowledged there were a few "big bumps in the road" in getting the complex built. He said he's excited now that opening day is in sight.

Riley is the head coach for the SUNY Broome men's soccer team. He has operated a soccer academy for several years.
