Endicott police are investigating a disturbance following a report of a stabbing and shots fired.

Authorities say one person who was involved in the dispute in the Union District sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were called to the 300 block of Badger Avenue around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday.

A preliminary investigation indicated a dispute started in an apartment at 136 West Main Street. It continued outside on Badger Avenue.

Police say the injured person, whose name was not released, refused medical treatment.

Investigators say there was no evidence of a stabbing and the person's injuries were not sustained from a gunshot wound.

The suspects involved in the incident fled on foot. They were last seen near Badger Avenue and Prospect Street, just south of where the dispute occurred.

Endicott police were assisted by New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
