One person is dead in a crash in Susquehanna County May 4.

Pennsylvania State Police say a 49 year old man was driving on State Route 167 in Brooklyn Township at around 1:45 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a left-hand turn, hit a parked car and then a tree and the vehicle caught fire.

The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

State Police say the man’s name is being withheld pending an autopsy.

His passenger, 25 year old Garrett Spear of Binghamton, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered unspecified injuries.

The investigation is continuing.
