Officials Investigate a Fire at SUNY Cortland

Officials are investigating the cause of a fire that damaged an academic building on the SUNY Cortland campus December 30. 

The blaze apparently started in a mechanical room at ‘Old Main.’  Officials say some classrooms suffered water damage but the fire was quickly put out.

The blaze was reported at around 9:30 a.m.

There were no injuries.

The building is currently closed pending the conclusion of the fire investigation.
