Nice Weather But Fire Danger High in Twin Tiers
Much of the region is being advised not to do any outside burning March 9 with a high risk for fire.
The National Weather Service says the Southern Tier of New York, Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and Central New York are included in a special weather statement cautioning of low relative humidity and winds gusting 10 to 15 miles per hour making conditions favorable for fires to spread rapidly.
NOAA says residents in Broome, Tioga, Chenango, Cortland and Delaware counties of New York as well as Susquehanna, Bradford and Wayne Counties in Pennsylvania are strongly discouraged from outside burning.
