New York State Police Investigate Fake $100 Bills in Southern Tier

New York State Police warn a counterfeiter may be operating in the Southern Tier. 

Troopers in Horseheads say a woman made purchases at Party City, Panera Bread and Five Guys stores near Elmira using fake $100 bills on January 5. 

The woman is seen on surveillance film wearing pink shirt and matching pants.  She appears to be a black woman, of average height and stocky build.

She may have been driving a gray Honda sedan with unknown registration.

Area merchants may want to be on heightened alert to the possibility of counterfeit money being circulated in the region.
