Members of Troop C and other State Police division have been joining New York State Department of Transportation crews at work sites along Interstate 81 and Route 17, some swapping their grey Stetsons for hardhats to enforce speed limits and ensure motorists are obeying flagging personnel.  Troopers are also watching for drivers who violate the state’s Move Over Law for emergency and work vehicles.

With the officers wearing reflective vests and hard-hats it may not be apparent to some motorists that there are Troopers in the work zone.
