New York State Investigate Fatal Crash in Tompkins County

 New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash in Tompkins County. 

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]Witnesses tell troopers a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox crossed into the oncoming lane of Route 96B in Danby at around 7 p.m. March 8, continued off the road and hit a tree. 

68-year-old Gary Hunter of Ithaca was pronounced dead at Cayuga Medical Center.

Troopers say the witness had stopped to check on the driver and began life-saving measures before emergency personnel arrived but Hunter passed away after being transported to the hospital.
