The hearing concerning the possible location of a full-service casino and resort in the region will not be held in Broome or Tioga Counties, two of the proposed sites for a gaming parlor.

The New York Gaming Facility Location Board has scheduled a public hearing for the Eastern Southern Tier region, which also includes the Finger Lakes, for September 24 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hotel Ithaca at 22 South Cayuga Street in Ithaca.

The Board said it selected hearing venues that were large and not located in counties or municipalities where developers have submitted license applications.

The Ithaca site is about halfway between the Greater Binghamton area and Tyre in Seneca County where Wilmorite is proposal the Lago Resort and Casino.

Tioga Downs in Tioga County and Traditions at the Glen in Broome County have also submitted casino license applications.
