New York Assistant Attorney General Michael Danaher on So. Tier Close Up
New York State Attorney General Assistant Attorney for Binghamton Michael Danaher, Jr. is on the weekly, local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up as work in the local and state offices continues to combat fraud and scams.
In this encore appearance on the program, Danaher offers a large amount of information about the ever-changing examples of how bad people are trying, too often successfully, in parting honest people from their money.
In addition to talk about internet, phone, mail and other scams, Danaher has valuable advice on financial planning, especially for seniors, making informed donations to charities and the broader work of Attorney General Letitia James' office in the state guarding the legal rights of citizens, organizations and natural resources.
Danaher says people should know they can contact the local A.G. office with questions even if they're wondering if an issue they are having is worth pursuing on a legal or other platform. While the Attorney General can't represent individuals or give legal advice, Danaher says the office can take complaints against businesses and has mediation programs available in addition to offering guidance to consumers.
Residents can contact the the Binghamton regional office at (607) 251-2770. The Consumer Frauds number is (607) 251-2764. They can also check the Attorney General's website at www.ag.ny.gov for general information and the listing of charities that are registered with the state.
Southern Tier Close Up can be heard Saturdays at 12:10 p.m. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
