The Vestal Parkway's newest hotel won't be in operation as soon as originally expected.

Vestal town supervisor John Schaffer said construction work at the building that will house the Tru by Hilton hotel appeared to come to a halt for about three weeks.

Work at the site has since resumed. Schaffer said he didn't know what caused the interruption in construction.

Lights can be seen in the building's rooms at night.

A spokeswoman for the hotel chain last March had said the opening of the Vestal location was expected to occur around the middle of this year.

Corning-based Visions Hotels will operate the facility. A representative Tuesday said the hotel now is expected to open in November or December.

The Tru by Hilton website indicated the Vestal hotel would open on February 3.

The Visions representative said it's not unusual for the corporate website to show a later opening date prior to the start of a hotel's operations.

The Hilton hotel website indicates the Vestal Parkway Tru site is to open in early 2020.
