Construction is underway on a $650,000 water pumping station project near the Huron Campus in Endicott.

The facility will be built on property owned by the village on the southeast corner of Watson Boulevard and Hayes Avenue.

Endicott water department chief operator Kevin Pero said the project will help boost the water supply provided by the village to customers in Endwell. The pumping station will replace a nearby aging facility.

Work at the site began this week with crews clearing the area where the facility will be built.

Construction of the pumping station is being done by Procon Contracting of Endwell. The project is expected to be completed next spring.
