Town of Union Detour is Delayed

Plans to close the intersection of Nanticoke Drive and Twist Run Road in the Town of Union until August 19 for a culvert replacement are on hold.

Broome County government officials announced last week the intersection would be closed starting at 7 a.m. July 28 for several weeks but a statement from the County, hours after the scheduled start of the project, issued an advisory saying the construction had been delayed.

No new start date for the work has been annolunced

Once construction does start, all thru traffic will need to take alternate routes.

Broome County officials say a detour will use local roads for the duration of the project.
