Vestal Police say a Mount Upton man is accused of burglary in connection with a break in at a home on Imperial Woods Drive.

Authorities say 31 year old Bryan Vassuer Junior is accused of getting into the unoccupied home on August 25th and represented himself as a real estate agent to prospective renters.

Police say the current occupants say they paid a significant security deposit before finding out the man was not a real estate agency and had no affiliation with the property.

Police say their investigation identified several incidents of a similar nature in surrounding communities.  That enabled Police to identify and apprehend Vassuer.

He is charged with felony counts of burglary and grand larceny.

Vassuer was arraigned October 10 and returned to the Broome County Jail where he was being held on a separate charge.
