Motorcyclist Dies After Crash During Cortland Police Chase
A man sustained fatal injuries when the motorcycle he was operating crashed during a police pursuit in the city of Cortland.
Authorities say 26-year-old Casey Stockton of Harford died after the incident, which happened shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday.
According to New York State Police, the crash occurred near the Port Watson bridge.
A news release indicated Stockton was being pursued by officers from the Cortland police department and the Cortland County Sheriff's Office at the time of the crash.
The roadway around the crash scene reopened late Sunday morning.
State police provided no information as to why Stockton was being pursued. No details were released regarding the crash.
