Minor Injuries Reported in Whitney Point School Bus Crash
New York State Police say they are investigating the cause of the crash of a school bus in Northern Broome County September 21.
The Whitney Point School bus left Pendell Hill Road in the Town of Nanticoke and crashed into a ditch at around 7:40 a.m.
State Police and a member of the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit responded to the scene.
Officials reported the bus driver and a bus monitor had suffered injuries and there was one child on the bus who only complained of some wrist pain.
Troopers say the 8-year-old was evaluated on the scene but was not transported. The 56-year-old bus driver complained of pain. She was transported to Wilson Hospital. The 37-year-old bus monitor suffered a cut to her head. She was taken to Binghamton General Hospital.
No other vehicles were involved and the 8-year-old was the only child on the bus.
