Matthews Auto Group is advertising on radio took out a full-page ad in the Sunday Press and Sun Bulletin announcing the “new Matthews Nissan on the Vestal Parkway East.”

While Volvos will no longer be sold in the Greater Binghamton area, Matthews says servicing of both brands will still be available.  The ad says “the entire existing staff is on board.”

The new dealership brand reportedly would not be able to offer warranty service on the Volvo brand and owners requiring factory-authorized service would need to go to dealers in Ithaca, Syracuse or Scranton.

Matthews Auto Group already had five locations in Vestal as well as dealerships in Norwich and Scranton.

Serafini Nissan Volvo reportedly had 55 sales and service employees.
