Is this the age of the mascot ?  When you visit area sporting events you may say yes it is !  Each major sports team has a mascot that gets plenty of attention whether it is at that organization's event or other events that warrant appearances.

At SUNY Broome their Hornet is likely to be seen.  At Binghamton University Baxter gets fans enthused before and during games.  In a recently completed poll held by the SUNY system involving 44 public New York Colleges Baxter was voted the most popular mascot !

This area's professional sports teams both have high-profile mascots.  The Binghamton Mets have two mascots that not only represent them at the stadium but also in appearances throughout the community.  Buddy the Bee and Ballwinkle both are highly recognizable around the area and are frequently invited to be at parades, ticket giveaways and celebrations.

Max is the official mascot of the Binghamton Senators. He entertains fans at all home  games and like the B-Mets mascots, is a frequent feature at parades, birthday parties and other celebrations.  Max and a number of his mascot friends gathered at a recent Binghamton Senators home game at the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
