Man Dies After Van Strikes Truck in Sidney

A 39-year-old Unadilla man died as the result of injuries he sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Delaware County.

Authorities say Jason Cunningham was taken to A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta following the collision that happened on River Road in the town of Sidney. He died a short time later.

According to New York State Police, the crash happened shortly after midnight Wednesday.

Investigators say Cunningham was driving a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country van westbound. The vehicle drifted into the opposite lane on a sharp curve.

Police say the van slammed into a 2009 Ford F-450 pickup truck that was eastbound.

The truck driver, 35-year-old Matthias Wesner of Unadilla, sustained minor injuries.
