Authorities say 22-year-old Lermaine Huggins was charged with second-degree strangulation, a felony.

Investigators say police were called to a Grand Avenue residence around 6:30 p.m. on Friday for a possible domestic dispute.

Police say Huggins had been involved in a fight with a woman who was described as his girlfriend. Huggins was arrested by officers at the scene of the dispute.

A detective division spokesman said the woman did not seek medical attention.

Huggins was arraigned at the Broome County Public Safety Building and ordered held in the jail.
