A proposal to make millions of dollars in improvements to Maine-Endwell School District facilities is about to go before voters.

District officials say the $15.5 million plan won't require any more tax dollars from property owners. The referendum will be held Tuesday.

The proposal calls for the construction of two additions at Homer Brink Elementary School. The work would include four more classrooms and a new gymnasium.

Enrollment at Homer Brink has jumped by more than 100 students over the last three school years.

Other capital projects are planned at the district's three other schools and at the bus garage.

The school district has been building its capital reserve in recent years to cover the cost of future projects.

Voting on the capital project plan will take place Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Town of Union residents will vote at the district office at 712 Farm to Market Road in Endwell. All other district residents will vote at Maine Memorial Elementary School.
