Lots of Cocaine Found in Kirkwood Traffic Stop

Three Newark, New York men are being held in the Broome County Jail without bail after New York State Police pulled them over on Interstate 81 North in Kirkwood April 2 and found almost one pound of suspected cocaine in the vehicle.

32 year old Matthew Simmons, 26 year old Ryan Rivera-Aponte and 48 year old Ray Rivera are all charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana possession.

Troopers say the 14 ounces of cocaine and marijuana have a potential street value between $50,000 and $75,000.

Officials say the investigation is continuing.
