A half-dozen people face charges following an investigation into a series of thefts in Chenango Bridge and Hillcrest over the past month.

Authorities say a search warrant was executed at a Hinmans Corners residence. Police confiscated a loaded handgun, drugs and stolen property from the home at 71 Grant Road.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, there had been several reports of items stolen from vehicles in the overnight hours in recent weeks.

Investigators reviewed surveillance video and tips received from residents via social media in their effort to identify suspects in the thefts.

Five of the six people arrested reside at the home on Grant Road. They are: 24-year-old Malinda Tuttle, 24-year-old Thomas Gumaer, 18-year-old Justin Gumaer, 18-year-old Crystal Green and 20-year-old Carter Perry. Also charged was 17-year-old Jayden Howe of 84 Murray Street, Binghamton. The suspects face various charges.
