New York State Police say they questioned 26-year-old Alexander Donenko shortly after 8 p.m. April 29 at the fairgrounds when they got the report of damage but he denied involvement.

Troopers say they arrested him the next morning when they went back to the scene to further investigate and found Donenko also back at the fairgrounds, inside the enclosed portion of the property, apparently checking out the damage in the daylight.

Authorities say they found Donenko in possession of a small amount of marijuana, a suspended license and a warrant from the City of Binghamton Police Department.

He was turned over to City Police to answer to his charges on the warrant and has been ordered to appear in Triangle Court to answer to charges of criminal mischief, trespass, unlicensed operation of a vehicle and unlawful possession of marijuana.
