Byrne Dairy Planning to Open Front Street Store Soon
Construction of the third Binghamton-area Byrne Dairy & Deli convenience store is nearing completion.
The Syracuse-based company acquired a property at Front Street and Hillside Drive in the Nimmonsburg section of the town of Chenango for about $472,000 last January.
A two-story office building that housed an insurance agency and another small business was demolished to clear the site for the Byrne shop. The property is located north of the Sonic Drive-In.
Byrne Dairy vice president Christian Brunelle told WNBF News the new store is expected to open in mid- to late-July.
Byrne opened its first Broome County store on East Main Street in Endicott in May of last year. A second local store - on Watson Boulevard in Endwell - started operations last November.
Another Byrne Dairy store is planned for a site on Route 11 at River Road in Whitney Point. Brunelle said construction of that shop is scheduled to start during the first week of June. He said that store likely will open in October.
