Work on Robinson Street on the east side began near Garden Avenue September 30.

The first phase is expected to last the next several weeks with work picking back up next year.

The $1.1 million dollar project will not only resurface the street but replace water and sewer lines, curbs and lighting.

Residents in the area said it had been decades since some portions of the road had been fixed with more than just a patch-work of asphalt over potholes.

City officials are asking businesses and people living on the street as well as motorists for patience while the work is being done.
