Law Enforcement Participates In No Shave November

No Shave November, or Movember is a month-long recognition, and fund raiser for cancer patience's, who statistically lose their hair while undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

Last Thursday the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office put out a news release announcing the No Shave November campaign that was help by the correctional Officers Union ended with $1000 in donations to two local service agencies in Delaware County.

Corrections officers  who participated donated $500 to the Delaware County Safe Against Violence and the other $500 to the Delaware County Veteran’s Service Agency.

In the News release quote Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMund said “I would like to warmly thank Sergeant Donald Simonds for organizing and leading this year’s event as well as the participating Officers for their dedication.  I am humbled and honored by their desire in raising awareness as well as their commitment to community service!”.

The Delaware County Veteran’s Service Agency administers and coordinates several programs and benefits for Veterans in federal, state, local and private.

Delaware County Safe Against Violence aides victims of domestic including safe confidential shelter for domestic violence victims, short term crisis and supportive counseling, medical and legal advocacy and accompaniment, information and referrals, and a 24/7 confidential hotline.
