Lanes of Rt. 11 in Dickinson to Close for 1 Year, Bridge Work Planned in Windsor
Lanes on part of Route 11 in Broome County are closed for a year.
The New York State Department of Transportation says north and southbound right-lanes of the Road in the Town of Dickinson were being closed starting May 14 as the interchange of Exit 5 on Interstate 81 is being reconstructed.
The DOT says during the construction, motorists can expect minor to moderate delays at peak commuting times.
Meanwhile, the Broome County Department of Public Works is currently in the design phase of a project to replace the Old Route 17 bridge and Chestnut Street culvert over Hotchkiss Creek in the Village of Windsor.
The double-barrel concrete box bridge was built in 1950 and is set on soil without concrete pilings. The deck and other parts of the structure are said to be in poor condition according to a listing of DPW engineering projects in need of attention at the Broome County government website.
