One Dead, Two Hurt After Fire Races Through Windsor Home
Firefighters found the body of a Broome County man inside his home following a fast-moving blaze.
Authorities said the fire at 68 White Birch Lake Road was reported around 4:40 a.m. Sunday.
The house was fully engulfed in flames when the first fire units arrived at the scene.
Firefighters were advised that one person had been unable to get out of the burning structure.
According to state police, the body of 84-year-old Daniel R. Price was located inside the home by members of the Windsor fire department.
Investigators said an 82-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man sustained injuries. They were transported to Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City for treatment.
Firefighters from West Windsor, Hapursville, Five Mile Point, Deposit and Susquehanna assisted in battling the blaze.
State police did not say what caused the fire.
