A 39-year-old Kirkwood man faces a felony charge after a fight.

Authorities say Christopher Crawford was arrested in the aftermath of a "physical dispute" on Route 11 in the Town of Kirkwood.

According to state police, Crawford violated an order of protection that was issued against him when he punched his wife.

Investigators say the charge was elevated to aggravated criminal contempt because Crawford had previously been convicted of first-degree criminal contempt in the last five years.

Police say Crawford was being held in Broome County Jail on an unrelated charge at the time the new count was filed. He was arraigned in Kirkwood town court and ordered held with no bail set.
