The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team is looking to head to their holiday break with a victory as they face the LIU Blackbirds on Friday at the Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets.  The Bearcats played their best defensive game to date before falling to the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame on Tuesday night.  They face the 5-5 Blackbirds in a noon start on Friday (air at 11:45 A.M.) on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM WYOS).

Two keys for the Bearcats success against the Blackbirds will be the play of guard Sam Sessoms and forward Caleb Stewart.  Sessoms scored a game-high 25 points against Notre Dame and is now averaging 18.3 points per game.  He is in the Top-Ten in freshmen scoring in the nation.

Stewart practiced Thursday and showed no apparent problems after leaving the Notre Dame game in the second half with a lower body injury.  He is playing his best basketball as a Bearcat and at 6'9" he brings to the floor Binghamton's tallest experienced forward.  He is averaging two blocks per game, eight points per game and 6.4 rebounds per contest.

Following Friday's game the Bearcats are idle until traveling to face fourth-ranked Michigan on December 30.  The team gets a few days off following the LIU Brooklyn contest and returns to practice following the Christmas holiday.
