LATEST: Johnson City police Thursday afternoon said David O'Neil has been located. Authorities said O'Neil was safe and was in the process of being reunited with his family. Investigators thanked those who provided information after they announced they were attempting to find O'Neil.

Authorities in Johnson City are asking for assistance from the public in their effort to find a man who has been reported missing.

According to village police, they are trying to locate 79-year-old David O'Neil.

The man is described as 6 feet tall with brown eyes and grey hair. He was last seen wearing a tan trench coat, green scarf, red baseball cap, a suit and tie, and large rubber boots.

Detectives said O'Neil wears glasses. He also walks with an impairment.

Police believe O'Neil may have traveled out-of-state recently.
