Johnson City Police say a Village man is facing felony drunk driving charges, felony evidence tampering, felony unlicensed operation and several lesser charges after an officer saw 35 year old Chachi Copp driving on Willow Street at around 4 p.m. November 19.

Authorities say the officer knew Copp didn’t have a driver’s license.

Police say Copp continued to drive around several streets before pulling into a driveway and trying to run away.

He was detained behind a building on Broad Street.

Copp’s felony DWI count and felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more are due to Copp having a previous DWI conviction in the past ten years.

He’s also charged with operating without a required ignition interlock device, obstructing governmental administration, and infractions of unlicensed operation, uninspected vehicle and unsafe tires.

Copp has been ordered to appear in Johnson City Village Court December 6.
