Johnson City Dedicates New Fire Truck
Johnson City firefighters will be better equipped to reach people in the rapidly growing number of taller buildings sprouting up in the village.
A $1 million dollar tower truck has been dedicated and is in service. The truck replaces a vehicle that was thirty years old.
Johnson City bonded for the funding to pay for the truck last year.
The Village is seeing more development of housing with the opening of the new Binghamton University Pharmacy School and the expected relocation of BU’s School of Nursing across the river from the Vestal campus in the upcoming months.
The new truck, like the old one, 100-foot ladders but also boasts new technology. The replacement vehicle is lighter and designed to move easier through residential streets.
