Johnson City Apartment House Heavily Damaged by Fire
Fire caused extensive damage to a four-unit apartment house in Johnson City.
The blaze on the North Side of the village was reported around 5:25 p.m. Wednesday.
The fire at 132 North Broad Street appeared to have started in the upper portion of the two-story structure.
Heavy smoke was pouring from the building's windows when police arrived at the
scene.
Firefighters with flashlights could be seen through windows on the second floor.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, although three ambulances were called to stand by on North Broad Street.
A building resident said she believed a dog had sustained burns as a result of the blaze..
North Broad Street was closed between Harry L Drive and North Street. The fire was knocked down after about 30 minutes.
