Johnson City Apartment House Damaged By Fire

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A fire caused some damage to an apartment house in the village of Johnson City Monday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to 11 Wells Avenue just after 2:15 p.m. as smoke was seen coming from the upper floor of the two-story structure.

The property is located north of Main Street, just west of the Binghamton city line.

A resident returned to the building to rescue several cats. No injuries were reported.

The fire was reported extinguished at 2:34 p.m.
