A $3 million road improvement project in Johnson City should be finished soon.

Crews have been busy milling and repaving sections of Riverside Drive and Floral Avenue over the last few weeks. The work area also includes the busy Route 201 traffic circle.

A spokesman for the New York State Department of Transportation said paving on the main traffic areas was completed a few days ago. Those operations were done at night.

Additional paving on side street tie-ins to the project area are being wrapped up this week.

Pavement marking work is planned to be done Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Bothar Construction of Broome County is the general contractor for the project.

In addition to roadway resurfacing, new sidewalk ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilties Act have been constructed as part of the project.
