It's the final time of the year to cast a line in New York state waters for free this year and the Governor wants everyone to take advantage of it. It coincides with Veterans Day to also honor those who have served.

When is The Last Day of Free Fishing in New York State?

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYDEC) announced that the final day of the year for free fishing is this Friday, November 11th, Veterans Day. During this final free fishing day, there is no fishing license needed to fish the fresh waters across New York state. You are encouraged to bring the entire family to experience fishing whether it be the first time or the one-hundredth time.
