Alright sports fans. If you really are a fan of sports, this is your time of the year!

Major League Baseball postseason is in full swing, The WNBA finals are about to begin,  pro and college football season is just over a month in already, and of course, there are plenty of sporting events happening locally from our high schools and colleges.

But that's not all. The professional hockey season (NHL) has just begun (October 9th), and the 2024-25 professional basketball season (NBA) will kick off the regular season on October 22nd.

In addition to all that, there are more local sports to enjoy! The Binghamton Black Bears, the 2024 Commissioners Cup Champions, will begin their 2024-25 FPHL season on Friday, October 11th in Watertown, taking on the Wolves.

The Black Bears home opener will be Saturday, October 12th at the Visions Veterans Memorial Arena, hosting the Watertown Wolves. That night, a championship banner-raising ceremony will be held.

And on Wednesday, October 30th, the BInghamton University Men's Basketball team will kick off their season with an exhibition game at home at the Events Center against Queens College. The first regular season game will be Monday, November 4th, at Penn State University. All home and away games can be heard on WNBF 1290AM / 92.5FM with Roger Neel providing the play-by-play.

The Binghamton University Women's Basketball team will kick off their 2024-25 season on Monday, November 4th, hosting the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown at the Events Center with new head coach, Mary Grimes. All home and away games can be heard on Kiss 104.1 FM.

The SUNY Broome Men's Basketball team begins their season on November 4th, hosting Cayuga Community College, and the Women's team at home on November 6th hosting Cayuga Community College.

That's a lot of sports. Enjoy, and may your favorite teams have a great season. Get out of the house this fall and winter and support our local teams from high school to college to professional leagues.
