Otsego County, New York Traffic Stop Yields Drugs, Firearm

The Otsego County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of Tyler M. Mitchell, 26 of Stamford after a traffic stop in the Town of Edmeston in Otsego County. The individual was discovered operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway despite having a suspended driver’s license and committing several other infractions under vehicle and traffic laws.

Additionally, the individual was found in possession of a modified pistol/firearm with its serial number removed. Upon arrest, a quantity of methamphetamine and suboxone was also found in the individual's possession. Mitchell was consequently taken into custody and subsequently detained at the Otsego County Jail awaiting central arraignment.

Mitchell is facing the following charges:

Criminal Poss. Weapon 3rd-Defaced for Concealment.

Felony Criminal Poss. of a Firearm.

Felony Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Deg. Misd.

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance- 2 Misd.

Counts Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 3rd Deg. Misd.
