Authorities say 21-year-old Nicholas Feminella of Ithaca pleaded guilty to two charges during an appearance in United States District Court in Syracuse on Friday.

Feminella admitted to possession and transportation of child pornography.

Prosecutors say Feminella acknowledged he uploaded videos from his computer to an account of the Dropbox file hosting service.

Investigators who searched his residence in 2015 recovered thousands of images and hundreds of videos depicting child pornography.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and the New York State Police computer crime unit.

According to United States Attorney Richard Hartunian, Feminella was detained pending his sentencing, which was scheduled for September 11 in Albany. He faces a minimum sentence of five years in prison. He could be sentenced to up to 20 years for each count.

This story has been updated to reflect a clarification from the U.S. Attorney's Office that Feminella no longer is a student at Ithaca College.
