Illicit Substance-Stuffed Easter Egg Confiscated in Ithaca
New York State Police say it wasn’t jellybeans they found hidden in an Easter egg during a traffic stop in the Town of Ithaca
.
Authorities accuse 41-year-old Melissa Armstrong of Brooktondale of hiding suspected crystal methamphetamine in the holiday decoration. Troopers say they also found she had a small amount of marijuana.Armstrong was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over at 7:42 p.m. June 28 on Elmira Road since a trooper noticed she wasn’t wearing a seat belt.
Armstrong is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and was ticketed for not wearing her seat belt.
She's been ordered to appear in Town of Ithaca Court later this month.
