Chenango County Sheriff’s officials say they stopped 26-year-old Uysef Guzman and 34-year-old Heather Prince at 4 a.m. June 4 on Route 12 in the Town of Norwich and a police K9 sniffed out over 220 packets of heroin between the seats.

Authorities say they believe the heroin could be mixed with deadly fentanyl.  The drugs have been sent to the New York State Crime Lab for analysis.

Deputies say they also found over $1,900 in possible drug sale proceeds.

Guzman and Prince are charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and evidence tampering.

The pair was sent to the Chenango County Jail on $20,000 bail.

The investigation is continuing.
