Hotline to Help Southern Tier Residents Who Use Drugs Alone

A Binghamton-based program that aids people afflicted by addiction and their families is launching a new hotline to offer New Yorkers who use drugs alone more safety.

Never Use Alone is a national program now partnering with Truth Pharm to offer emergency help at 1-800-997-2280.

Trained volunteer operators from around the state are available to answer calls 24-hours a day, seven-days a week from people about to take drugs to make sure they stay responsive during the process.  Officials say if the user stops responding during the call, the operators call emergency responders.
