Heavy Rain Could Cause Flash Flooding in Twin Tiers
After a rare weekend of dry, sunny weather, the National Weather Service in Binghamton says some possibly heavy rain is on the way.
According to a “Hazardous Weather Statement" issued by NOAA, there is the potential for locally heavy rainfall into early June 11.
1 to 1.5 inches of rain is possible. Locally heavier rainfall amounts are expected to be mainly in areas east of Interstate 81.
Those amounts could result in flash flooding. However, river flooding is not expected.
More rain is expected toward the end of the week on Thursday into Thursday night.
