The Albany Great Danes used a big first half and a tough defense to down the Binghamton Bearcats 62-49 in men's basketball on Wednesday night at SEFCU Arena.  Albany held a 33-21 lead at the end of the first half and used a tough defense to limit Binghamton's leading scorer Sam Sessoms to 9 points in the game.

Poor shooting kept the Bearcats from putting together any kind of a point-scoring run in a catch-up attempt.  Binghamton never held the lead in the game. Binghamton shot just 29 percent from the field and went 7-29 for 24 percent from three-point range. The Great Danes also struggled at times making 36 percent of their shots and didn't help themselves at the free throw line were hey made just 11 of 22 free throws.

With the win the Great Dames up their conference slate to 6-3 while the Bearcats fall to 2-7.  Next up for Binghamton is a home game this Saturday.  BU hosts the Maine Black Bears at 2:00 PM.
