Officials say cold temperatures were expected overnight to dip into the 30s.  With a calm wind, areas of frost and even possibly a freeze in some of the coldest spots is possible.

In the Advisory Statement, NOAA is projecting the temperature to be as low as 33 degrees, resulting in frost formation.

Tender plants, especially succulents that contain a large percentage of moisture in their leaves and stalks, are susceptible to damage or total loss if they are left uncovered.

House plants that have been enjoying the summer outside should be brought in or, at least placed under cover.  Gardens and crops at risk should be covered with a light cloth.  Plastic is an option but it could also be a factor to damage or killing plants if it is left over vegetation after the sun rises and warms the covering, making for a greenhouse effect.
