Friends and Strangers Turn Out for Murdered Baby’s Vigil in Tioga County

Over 100 people are said to have turned out June 12 for a memorial in the Town of Tioga for 8-month-old Ruby Franciscovich, who was found dead in a pond near Saint Patrick’s Cemetery June 9.

The baby’s father, 25-year-old Cody Franciscovich, is accused of raping and murdering her.  He has pleaded not guilty and is being held for grand jury action.

Members of the community, dressed in red for Ruby, along with two groups of motorcyclists, gathered June 12 for prayers, song and reflection at the cemetery.  Many of those attending said they didn’t know the family but felt compelled to be there.

In the hours after the news came out of the discovery of the child’s body and the arrest of her father, a memorial began to appear along the fence of the cemetery.
